FAQ FOR PV Products

LEDVANCE Photovoltaics

Battery Energy Storage Systems

The battery naturally discharges during long storage. First remove the battery from the carton and check for signs of damage or moisture. If you find anything of concern, contact your local LEDVANCE service center. When everything looks good, install the battery on the grey base supplied with the BMS. Using a digital multimeter, measure the voltage at the + and - current terminals available on the top plate of the battery. Wear personal protective equipment during work and take care not to short-circuit the terminals. If the battery voltage is less than 103V the battery needs recharging. Contact your local LEDVANCE service or installer.
The battery is charged to 50% during production. The voltage is then around 105 V.
If the voltage drops below 98 volts, this means that the state of charge is 10% and the battery needs to be recharged immediately so as not to irreversibly damage the cells.
If the battery remains deeply discharged for more than two weeks and the voltage drops below 98V, contact your local LEDVANCE service or installer immediately.
A document showing compatible waveguides with LEDVANCE batteries can be found at this address.
Consult your local installer or energy supplier on this matter.
If the battery is not charged or discharged for an extended period, it should be disconnected from the system.

To do this, charge the battery to 100%.
Switch the battery mode to no battery.
Switch off the DC disconnect switch on the BMS panel.
The capacity of the HV battery can be increased within 6 months of installation and at any time for a low-voltage battery.  Contact your local installer or LEDVANCE service for this purpose.
  • Regularly check the status of the battery in the app, analyse the energy stored in the battery - watch for any anomalies throughout the day or week.
  • Check DC cables and connectors - if they are loose or the insulation is damaged, there is a risk of electric shock or fire. Check it every 6 months.
  • Avoid low and high temperatures – it reduces SOH of battery and available energy.
The recommended maximum charging and discharging current is 20 amps.
Increased charging and discharging rates may accelerate the rate of SOH degradation.
Check what charge and discharge current is set in the system configuration. We recommend a value of 20 A.
Slow charging can also be caused by insufficient energy from the PV modules.
Select the “PYLON” option. This is the same communication protocol that LEDVANCE batteries have.
BMSs manufactured from 29.09.2024 have MC4 EVO2 Staubli connectors.
Dataloggers only connect to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
Install the battery on the grey base supplied with the BMS. Using a digital multimeter, measure the voltage at the + and - current terminals available on the top plate of the battery. Wear personal protective equipment during work and take care not to short-circuit the terminals. The typical value for 50% charged battery should be around 105V. If the battery voltage is less than 98V the battery needs recharging. Contact your local LEDVANCE service or installer.
Change Wi-Fi login parameters. Select in LEDVANCE RE application: Me/Tools/Wi-Fi params/Bluetooth/scan/Wi-Fi select and password .
No,  datalogger operation should continue.
Check Wi-Fi power in your phone. The datalogger does not need a fast connection, it just needs to be stable.
The error codes can be found in the user manuals for each inverter.

Check voltages of each battery installed separately on base. If voltage is below 98V battery needs recharge.

2.3.4. HOW CAN SMART+ BLUETOOTH LAMPS BE RESET?

Individual SMART+ Bluetooth lamps can be reset to factory setting and reconfigured without the entire smart home system having to be reinstalled. Just delete the lamp in your Smart Home system (see FAQ LEDVANCE SMART+ app, FAQ section SMART+ with Apple HomeKit, SMART+ with Amazon Alexa or SMART+ with Google Assistant)) or manually reset it by:

a) Resetting SMART+ Bluetooth RGBW lamps:
To reset a SMART+ Bluetooth RGBW lamp to factory setting, switch it ON for three seconds then OFF for three seconds five times in succession. When switched on again, the lamp flashes blue, green and red as confirmation and can now be incorporated in a smart home system again.

b) Resetting SMART+ Bluetooth Tunable White lamps:
To reset a SMART+ Bluetooth Tunable White lamp to factory setting, switch it ON for three seconds then OFF for three seconds five times in succession. When switched on again, the lamp flashes two times cold white and warm white as confirmation and can now be incorporated in the smart home system again.

c) Resetting SMART+ Bluetooth Dimmable lamps:
To reset a SMART+ Bluetooth Dimmable lamp to factory setting, switch it ON for three seconds then OFF for three seconds five times in succession. When switched on again, the lamp dims three times up and down as confirmation and can now be incorporated in the smart home system again.

The error codes can be found in the user manuals for each inverter:

2.4.2. WHAT CAN I DO IF MY PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED BY THE PREVIOUS ANSWERS?

For additional help, please check out the respective troubleshooting FAQ section (LEDVANCE SMART+ app, SMART+ with Apple HomeKit or SMART+ with Google Assistant or SMART+ with Amazon Alexa). If your question is still not answered, please contact our support team directly. Our support team will be pleased to provide further assistance.

Contact technical support. (End customer or installer will not know which one is the latest)
It depends on the selected grid code and the tolerances associated to it
For more information, please contact your technical support who can provide you more detailed information
During the quick setting process, the grid code will be requested
Or by going in the app to (Via Bluetooth): Me / tools / local parameters settings / select the inverter SN / setting / grid parameter setting
Remote operation not possible for end customer
Yes, contact your local LEDVANCE team for training.
Yes.  It is visible on the inverter and marked as “AC-Back up”.
